I finished stitching all the words on "Jingle as ye enter, Jingle as ye go".
There is not much left to stitch, just snowflakes and gold balls.
I have been reading a lot lately. I recently finished "Under Currents", by Nora Roberts.
This was a good book, but I almost didn't read it. The beginning chapters deal with a very disturbing subject matter.(I don't want to write any spoilers). I started skimming a few of the first chapters, because I just couldn't read the details. The book became easier to read and enjoyable, but a word of warning, that subject matter returns over and over throughout the novel.
Obviously I needed something lighter to read so I turned to a Sherryl Woods novel, "Sand Castle Bay (An Ocean Breeze Novel).
A good romance novel is what I needed after the last one. I am totally enjoying this book.

Glad you've nearly finished your cross stitch with plenty of time to spare before Christmas! I've read some Nora Roberts there always tends to be some grisly bits! I'm reading trash at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteYour cross stitch is lovely. Those are 2 of my favorite authors. Happy stitching!

Congratulations on finishing the words in your stitching! I enjoy Nora Roberts' books, but you are right, they aren't light-hearted! I'll have to look for the Sherryl Woods book - haven't read any of hers.
ReplyDeleteThe stitching is looking lovely, what an amazing job.
ReplyDeleteLove that festive stitching! I have seen so many beautiful Xmas projects on the blogs that I almost feel like starting my own Xmas stitching…. Enjoy your reading!
ReplyDeleteI read "there's not much else to cross stitch except snowflakes and golf balls" WHAT? I guess reading comprehension is deteriorating! Lovely picture you are working on.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Christmas stitching! :-)
ReplyDeleteReading and stitching... the perfect pandemic antidote!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Slow Sunday Stitching!
Great headway with your stitching. Life is full of bad/darkness right now, don't think I want to read a book that has darkness in it. But, I like the look of the 2nd one. We need some good escapes right now. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty stitching! Congratulations on all the stitching progress. Some of NR's books can be really hard to read, she doesn't shy away from some of the harder life circumstances when she crafts her stories, I've given up on more than one of her's because it's just too dark. Hope you've found some other lighter good reads.
