Magnifying stitching

I am happy to say that my new clip-on magnifier works like a charm.
I had no problem cross-stitching the Y of this piece. I can see all of the threads  perfectly. Do you see how large it appears?
 I am in love.
What a pleasure to stitch on 30-count linen with a magnifier.

I am also still in love with my husband. Today is our 34th anniversary.

We will be celebrating with dinner out tonight with our son.

I have also started another scarf. This one is crocheted seed stitch.
I think this will be another donation scarf, but it is a pretty lavender color and I really like the pattern.
We shall see, this may stay with me.

Our son is visiting for the 4 day weekend. I made Tomato Mozzarella Salad to go with our July 4th dinner. Both he and Hubby like this salad a lot.
This little squirrel was visiting our deck the other day.
He/she was warily eyeing the other squirrel on our lawn.
I enjoyed watching both of them square off for a little while.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching.

Also, check out this great giveaway at Stitching Friends Forever!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. The salad looks delicious, I love anything with tomatoes in it. Magnifiers are a wonderful help for needlework, they make stitching so much easier. Have a wonderful week!

  2. I am glad you can use a magnifier I can't not use one, I just can't focus right but luckily I can take my glasses of and see close up just fine to stitch and thread a needle.

  8. That magnifier definitely seems to do the job well. I tend to stitch on Aida now rather than anything else because I find it really difficult to see. Happy anniversary by The way.

  9. Hi Cathie, I'm so happy this magnifier worked out for you. The one on my Ott floor lamp never did work for me and I was disappointed. Meanwhile, Happy 34th and love your nail colour! I make a bocconcini and tomato salad that must be very similar. Happy Stitching!

  12. Probably 20 years ago I had all the equipment and supplies for counted cross stitch - and I really enjoyed doing it, but my eyes began to fail me (on 14-18 count) and I gave it up. Wondering now if I had a magnifier like that one would I have stopped. Now I knit - almost exclusively and have more knit supplies and plans than I could ever accomplish if I lived to be 100. So limiting myself to current crafts only. I just can't imagine 30 count! What a beautiful picture that would create.
