Snow Day

It is snowing here on Long Island and I received an early morning call that school was cancelled today. Yay!
I have been working on crafts all morning. I finished zipper stitching together the first two rows of my Granny Rose Square afghan.
I am going to start adding the third row soon. These keep on twisting at the intersections and I think that adding the third row will stop that.
I also finished the sequins and embroidery of the first piece of the Advent Calendar and moved on to add the second.
This will be a slow process as I must work at a table because of the beads and sequins. I am going to enjoy this though because it is easy to see my progress.

My snow day is allowing me to join Ginny for Yarn Along today. She has resumed this feature of her blog on a monthly basis. What are you knitting/crocheting? What are you reading? I haven't been doing much reading myself other than math textbooks, but I did pick this book up recently and decided it is just what I need to easily pick up and put down as necessary.
I do like a light Nora Roberts' romance novel now and again.

I hope everyone experiencing Winter Storm Quinn stays warm and safe.
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. y'all are sure getting the snow up there this past couple weeks, I was at the fitness center and glanced at the jumbo tv and they had a news station on in NYC and the man being interviewed was in front of a window and wow was it snowing - coming down fast - nothing but snowflakes for me this year and we are in early spring now and some leaves coming on the early trees so better not get snow now.

  2. Thanks for visiting.....I just finished the cowl....it'll be good for the Hubs when he is shoveling tomorrow :) The snow did kick up about 1:00 or so...we'll see if we have school tomorrow, probably a delay....also I do a linkup on Wednesdays and since I don't have time in the morning, I usually post it some time Tuesday night, if you'd like to link up...

  6. I like your granny squares. I have made lots of them but never with flowers. I didn't know Nora Roberts wrote a Christmas book.

  7. Hi Cathie: Your floral granny square is coming along, I bet adding the third row will help.
I am reading Alibi by Sandra Brown, it did not catch me at first but now I have a hard time putting it down.
I am also a fan of Nora Roberts.

    Blessings
