Friday was a Snow Day for me. I put away all of my Christmas decorations except for the village which I put away on Saturday. I was also able to add some stitches to the Santa Stocking. This is where Santa was for the last update.
The cross-stitching on one of Santa's arms is now completed. I have moved on to the other arm and more of the gift.
I am finally using the scroll-frame stand that I received as a birthday present last year.
Our son is visiting again this weekend as his moving company packed up all his belongings on Friday. They were supposed to come tomorrow, but when he called to confirm they stated that they were coming on Friday instead. That was definitely not what he expected. He is moving from King of Prussia, PA to Carlsbad, CA. He will be starting a new job and finally be able to live with his fiancee. They are getting married in April.

Your Father Christmas is just beautiful , I love watching him coming to life . Have a fun week .
ReplyDeleteYou got quite a bit done on Santa this time around! I’m sure he will be done in plenty of time for this Christmas. Congrats to your son on his new job…too bad it is so far away. You will miss him.
ReplyDeleteI hope your son won't have trouble with the moving company I have heard some people talk of all the trouble they have. That is quite a move for him - totally different weather for sure. Love your Santa and your work frame I need to show that to my daughter.
ReplyDeleteHe has done a cross country move like this once before. The moving company was hired by his new company. These movers are usually very reliable. They don't want to lose the lucrative corporation's contract. They pack everything and move everything for you. So glad you like my Santa.
DeleteSanta is on his way to being finished; you will be very early for next year, which is so nice. Well done!
ReplyDeletedidn't realise quite how big this piece was until I saw it in the frame!
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty large Christmas stocking. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteYou are certainly making good progress on this project Cathie and I am enjoying seeing it grow. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteGood luck to your son on this job change! And moving across the country too! I love seeing Santa’s progress and your cross stitching frame! Kathi
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on Santa. Are you enjoying the new scroll frame stand?
ReplyDeleteWow, you have made so much progress! Santa looks amazing. I am sending congratulations to your son! We will have a bit more in common this year. My son will likely be moving from one coast to the other and is getting married this summer. 2022 will be a full year. Sending best of wishes to you all!
ReplyDeleteSanta is coming right along! He looks like he is a pretty good size. Will you frame him when finished? Your son's move sounds like a big one for him, and for you, too. Although, Carlsbad will be a fun place to visit! We love that area of California.
ReplyDeleteSanta is really coming along. Congratulations to your son and his new job. I love Carlsbad, I grew up in Vista. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice frame, would imagine that makes stitching easier and more taught. I remember often trying to tighten my rings, but given the size of your project the frame seems like a great idea. YOu've made really good headway since the last picture.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny, but I sometimes prefer the rings. I can't always get the scroll frame tight enough for my liking. I have one frame whose screws I have to replace as they keep slipping. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteWow! Santa is much bigger than I thought. Such clever use of colour and shading in this design. Good luck to your son in his new job :-)
ReplyDeleteSanta is a Christmas stocking so it is quite large. I am really loving this design.
DeleteNice frame. Previously, I had not realized how large it was. It must be nice to not have to hold it on your lap.
ReplyDeleteYour Santa is looking more gorgeous with every stitch. The frame with Santa placed in it, sitting by the sofa, looks very stylish. =)
ReplyDeleteYour Santa stitch is looking wonderful, Cathie. Congratulations to your son on his new job and move.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying seeing your patient progress on your Santa stocking. How are you liking the scroll frame? I've never used one before. A Spring time wedding will be lovely indeed.
ReplyDeleteSanta is growing fine!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYour making great progress on this. How do you like working with the frame stand in comparison to on the lap?
ReplyDeleteYour Santa is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress, he's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely progress and I would be crying big buckets of tears with his move, the older I get the more I don't like how far my adult kids live from me :)
ReplyDeleteOut blog walking thought I'd pop in to see how things are going?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by!
