Back to Stitching

It has been two weeks since I posted mainly because last week there was absolutely no stitching happening. I made the mistake of collecting an assignment in my university class as well as giving that same class a subsequent test. I was swamped with grading. Ugh!

This week was free and clear and a whole lot of stitching happened. Yay!

I have managed to move to the right side of the tree trunk and add some leaves to the palm tree on Three Boats.

I have also finished the tree to the right the church on October Morning and started adding some color near the bottom.

Hubby and I took a walk through our local preserve last weekend. This is the path we walked. Some fallen leaves on the ground, but not much color yet.

There were some pretty ferns along the way.

It was hard to get a good photo of the lake as there were other people at the opening with the clearest view. We are social distancing at all times. We still got a glimpse of the water.

On our way back, this black cat crossed our path and then sat on the side and watched us.

He was quite cute.

I have finished reading the "Grace Kelly Dress" by  Brenday Janowitz. I really liked it and would recommend it.

I also finished reading "Whispering Rock", by Robyn Carr. This was the 3rd book of the Virgin River series. I enjoyed reading this also, but I predicted some of the twists which was unfortunate.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching. I think I will add some stitches to Three Boats.

Thanks for stopping by!

A lucky black cat, we say in the UK if it crosses your path you will have some good luck.

  2. Yay for some time for stitching Three Boats and October Morning. You have made lovely progress. That path looks like a nice walk. I did smile at that black cat watching you. I always think there is something terribly wise about a black cat and the way they look at you.

  6. Some stitching is better than none and you are making progress. Empathy on work interrupting sewing time. I'm sure your students are benefitting from your teaching. It's good that you can get out and enjoy nature.

  7. You are making progress. I feel you about things interfering with what you want to do. I had the same thing happen this week

  8. Your projects are lovely. I find stitching always becomes easier once an actual design or picture starts to form. Nice that you were able to get out for a walk in such a pretty place and with feline supervision. :)

  11. Getting out in nature is always good for the soul, and as you say, you can keep well away from other people. What do they say about black cats crossing your path? Can't remember if it is good or bad luck? Let's make it good luck for you!

  13. Your stitcheries are gorgeous. Not much color here yet either, though we just got our first blast of cold and dreary. Enjoy the rest of the autumn and your slow stitching time.
