I have been working on Baker Beach. I actually have to go an buy some more of the blue that I am currently using...DMC 809. I think I am going to run out before I finish this page and I need it for the next page also. I guess I am making a trip to ACMoore sometime today.
Here is where I was on my last update.
This is where I am now.
I haven't been working on this for the last couple of days because Hubby and I made a short trip to Saratoga, NY. Hubby loves horse-racing and had never been to Saratoga during the season. So we drove up there on Thursday morning....about a 4 hour drive. We came home Friday night. I took only a few pictures. This is the picnic area.
Here is the grandstand. Although you can't tell from this picture, it was very hot and quite crowded.
This is the view of the track from inside the grandstand. Hubby had a great first day of betting....lots of winners. He only had one winning bet on the second day. Me? I did not have a single winning bet on either day. Sigh......
There were some really pretty flowers around.
After dinner we went over to the harness racing track which is separate from the thoroughbred track.
Another pretty track.
This was just a short but necessary respite from daily life.
I am joining Kathy for Slow Sunday Stitching today. Tomorrow I will join the Stitchery Link Party at Super Mom - No Cape. Pop on over to these sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
I love your slow stitching! I like the race tracks too. My gambling has been cut down to two little trips per year somewhere due to being a stay-at-home mom since 2007. I don't miss it as much as I thought. I am so fortunate to be a mom. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteYou know you are working on a large project when you go through a whole skein of floss in one colour!!! Have fun stitching today.
ReplyDeleteYour horse racing getwaway sounds fun! Enjoy your stitching today on Baker's Beach...truly a labor of love and it's enjoyable to watch it grow, slowly but surely.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun couple of days. Nice way to recharge your batteries!
ReplyDeleteYour project is really looking great, Cathie! And I enjoyed your photos from Saratoga--looks like a nice getaway :)
ReplyDeleteNice progress! I worked in Saratoga for about a year and it's a beautiful place to visit. You didn't mention if you visited the casino at the harness track? ;)
ReplyDeleteThis sure has been fun watching as this project grows
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun getaway.

ReplyDeleteLooking great not to much left.
Looks like you had some fun time away.
Beautiful stitching, but a lot of work! Looks like a fun weekend doing something different.
ReplyDeleteYour Bakers Beach stitchery is just beautiful, oh my goodness I hate when I run out of a color, I had to stock up on black for my current project and still had to buy more. Love Saratoga its been decades since I have been but it still remains just as lovely.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your cross stitch project! I agree with The Cozy Quilter - when you go through an entire skein of one color that is a huge project! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous project. really a big one.
