I have a few items that are getting closer and closer to being finished. I am working on the last part of the Woodland Babies birth announcement. The raccoon is all done and I am currently stitching the owl. Once the owl is done I will add my granddaughter’s name, birth date, etc.
33 out of 36 blocks are completed for “Windows into my World “.
I purchased the batting and backing fabric.
I also purchased some fabric for Royal Squares. The yellow will be a thin framing border. The Liberty floral will be the outer border. Once these are added I will decide on backing and binding fabrics. I don’t have enough of any of the original fabrics to use as binding. I will have to think on it. I know how I want to quilt the main part of this quilt. I'm still deciding on whether to machine or hand quilt it. I will have to decide on how to quilt the borders.
I baked again. This time I made Nestle Tollhouse Milk Chocolate Oatmeal cookies though I used semisweet chips as I prefer them.
I shouldn’t be baking as I recently joined a local independent gym to try to lose weight and improve my fitness. The gym has a senior citizen plan that is reasonably priced and allows you to take unlimited classes each month. I’ve been to 4 so far. The fitness part is going better than I expected. I’m not at all as sore as I anticipated. I’m also able to complete most of the exercises without any accommodations. I’m actually enjoying the classes and the encouraging trainers and other participants.
I will be joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching and Frederique at the Quilting Patch. Make yourself some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Cathie: You are so close to the finish on the Sampler, it is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThe Windows Into the World has me so intrigued, it is amazing how it is curving like that. Your cookies look yummy, I gave up all bakery goods for Lent, it has not been easy.
The two fabrics you chose for the Royal Squares makes the other colors really pop.
Catherine
I love your stitching , and what a great bog ,you have been busy , hugs June.
ReplyDeleteIsn’t it a great feeling when a project nears the finish line? The birth announcement is so cute! Windows into my world’s 3D illusion is interesting. I’ve always been fascinated by quilts that look like that. Good for you on the fitness classes. I have seen the benefits of activity on long term mental and physical health on older adults in my job before I retired. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteWow, the embroidery is really cool and cute, this is such a lovely gift for the little one ;) Love Windows too, it will soon be finished. Thank you for sharing your work in progress, and linking up.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous stitching!
ReplyDeleteI like the skinny gold border you are planning and you are so close finishing the blocks for Windows. I'm enjoying watching your progress. Good for you to join and gym and to be participating! I hope the classes continue to be fun and that you see your body transform in the way that you want. As for the cookies, I bet there are places you can share them!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteSince I had to commit to 6 months of payments at the gym I know that I will continue to go to the classes. I refuse to waste that money and I need the exercise. I am glad that you like the projects that I am working on.
