First Finish of 2020

I finally finished crocheting my hat.
I am quite pleased with the result. Now I am working on finishing the matching scarf.
I also finished reading True Blue by Luanne Rice.
It took me a while to get into this book, not for any other reason, but that I just didn't have the time some days to pick it up. I am so glad that I stuck with it, because I really liked this book and will be looking to read some others by this author.

I put some stitches into "Jingle". The bird is now more than halfway done.
I am off from school this coming week so I should have more progress to report next week.....unless I get sidetracked by other WIPs.

I also want do some clearance shopping while I am off. This is always a great time of year to snag some cold weather clothes to replace some that are wearing out. Of course I have scheduled dentist and eye doctor appointments this week too. I like not to have to use my sick days for these and we don't have any travel plans.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching. I will be working on either Jingle or Three Boats.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I like sale shopping too, I like to replenish my gift drawer with a few bargains for the children. Love the hat.

  2. Your hat is so cute in that soft lavender. Looking forward to the matching scarf!

  3. I have read a few of that authors books and usually like them

  4. Your hat is a pretty purple! I have enjoyed Luanne rice's books over the years, too - haven't thought to see if she has a new one out. Enjoy your week off!

  5. Your hat has turned out lovely! Never heard of this author, I will make a note and take a look in our library.

  6. The lavender hat turned out well. The little bird on your Christmas stitching shows up nicely. Sounds like you'll have a productive week off work. Hope you get as much done as you plan.

    1. Thank you Sandy. I never quite get as much done as I want to when I am off, but then again I usually make very long lists.

  7. what a very pretty hat! congrats on the finish. I've read some of her books a while ago but haven't lately, I recall liking her books though. Happy Valentine's day late.

  8. Your hat is beautiful!! You did a really lovely job on it and the color is scrumptious! Enjoy your time off this week; I hope you have time for some fun things amidst the 'chores'! :)

  9. Cathie: Love the yarn color choice so pretty.
I have not read anything by this author, I will have to look her up.
    Nice progress on Jingle.
