Do you like candy canes? I remember eagerly awaiting Christmas time so that there would be candy canes and sucking on them as a kid. Funny, I don't really like them that much as a candy any more.
I buy a box each year to hang on the tree and after Christmas I put them in a bag where our snacks reside. The following year I find the bag again and throw it out. Only my daughter will actually eat maybe one candy cane a year.
This year one of my husband's students gave him a mug with a stocking holding two large candy canes....one peppermint, one strawberry. I may have to refer to Hubby as Mr. Fantastic on the blog from now on.
I came upon these great candy cane ornaments when we were going through my late BIL's decorations. I think these may replace the annual box in future years. Don't they look very realistic.
I also sewed a candy cane this past week. There are two to make, but I could only complete this one. I don't want to take any chances so I am limiting my sewing.
I still have to finish attaching this candy cane. I will make the other one today hopefully.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
Your post today has me craving something peppermint! So nice that you have been able to do a little bit of sewing!
ReplyDeleteI always buy a box or two of candy canes as hubby likes them, I put them on the tree now and then but I rarely eat one - I don't know why I do like them when I do

ReplyDeleteLovely Christmas blog , I use to like a candy cane too,
ReplyDeleteBut my dentist would be so mad with me if I eat them now .
Thank you. My dentist wouldn't be too happy either.
DeleteI love candy canes on a tree and have always decorated with lots of them. I used to buy about 4 boxes of them and like you pitch them and buy new, cause no one ate them. I like you found wonderful plastic ones. I'll post a picture when I do my Christmas post.
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out your post.
