Ta-da! Baker Beach is finished!

I sat down with Baker Beach lat Sunday morning and finished it just after noon.
It has been washed and ironed (though it looks like I need to do more ironing) and is ready to be brought to the framer. I think I will wait until my son visits so that he can have a say in how it is framed as it is a gift for him.
This took over three years and consisted of 36,000 stitches. I made sure initial and date it although it is a little hard to see in this photo.
All in all I love how this turned out!

Next up is this felt Advent Calendar.

In reading the directions I realized that all those mittens and stockings are actually permanently attached which is not what I really want, so I may have to adjust how this is made near the end. I would prefer that each stocking could be hung on its own button or bead. I have a long way to go before I really have to worry about that. I will be starting work on this today as my hands are itching to do some sewing.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

  21. This piece is simply magnificent Cathie!
I think it is the Golden Gate Bridge; my first husband and I visited the area for our 25th wedding anniversary trip and loved the sights.
We are so much alike-always want to have something to stitch. I actually have that same kit tucked away somewhere!!
