Shawl progress

Since I finished working on my daughter's infinity scarf (you can see it here), I have been happily knitting my feather and fan shawl.
I have knitted through the darkest shade of the yarn and am working with a lighter grey again. I have to pay attention and count a lot when I am knitting this shawl or I spend a bunch of time frogging. I really like the way it is looking. I don' t know whether I will get any use out of it this year, but that is okay. I will enjoy it whenever it is finished.

I am joining Ginny for Yarn Along today. What are you knitting/crocheting? What are you reading? Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are up to. I am re-reading The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro. I still had this on my "want to read" list when I went to the library, but I have actually read this book. I have another book that I borrowed, but I decided that I would read this one again. I am enjoying the easy read and I am actually reading it more thoroughly this time.

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. It is beautiful and perfect for the start of the cooler weather next year.

  4. beautiful! and it matches my wardrobe ;)

  5. I love seeing the gradation of color as you progress.

  6. What a gorgeous shawl you have on your needles, Cathie! Thanks for the book recommendation--it has been on my Kindle for awhile now... Time to give it a try :)

  7. If only I wasn't on a stash busting journey at the moment, I'd be tempted to cast on one of these shawls. Although I do have one yarn that might be good......maybe! Not heard of your book, but like the title.

  8. Lovely shawl, such gorgeous looking wool! I know I would have problems knitting this, far too complicated for me! Actually, I say that but I do have some knitting on my needles at the moment ..... just not getting on with it ..... I'm using a horseshoe stitch, which is fairly easy once you have done about a dozen rows, then you can see if the pattern is going right ..... I just haven't got that far yet! My horseshoe stitch looks a little like the stitch you are using! Look forward to seeing your shawl when it is finished!
    Great title for a book!
