Cool Autumn Weather

Happily Hurricane Joaquin is giving Long Island a pass. I really feel bad for all those in the South who are being socked by rain. I hope everyone stays safe.

Autumn has definitely arrived here though. We finally had to give in and put the heat on yesterday. The house was just too cool for comfort. I put an afghan on the bed in order to keep us warm.
I haven't gotten my quilt out yet. I hope I have some time to change over the bedding in the near future, although it is supposed to warm up here again sometime this week so I might wait a bit still.

I think today I will spend some time on Baker Beach. Last week I was here:
I managed to spend a good hour one day working on it, so now it looks like this. I hope you can see the difference. One hour with a whole lot of color changes doesn't really look like much.
I actually think I will spend a little time on this or Santa today and then get some knitting done also. Maybe Hubby and I will take a walk in the crisp Autumn air. Hmmm, sounds like a plan.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching today. Tomorrow I will join the Stitchery Link Party at Super Mom- No Cape. Pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are up to.

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. How lovely that afghan is...same situation here in PA. Yesterday morning was about 42 degrees so I ran the furnace for a bit ...don't see how I'd have gotten a shower without doing so! It stayed chilly all day, though I only had the furnace on that morning. Today it will gradually go up to around 70 or so.

  10. That really is Slow Stitching! Beautiful work. The hurricane gave us several days of rain, and some flooding in the low valley areas of our mountain area of North Carolina, but we live on a mountainside so were safe.

  11. I love your blanket design. Happy to hear the storm didn't come your way. We received a little bit of much needed rain here in parched southern California. Your beach picture is really amazing with all those tiny stitches making such a lovely picture. Have a great week :)

  13. Those confetti sections certainly do slow down the stitching progress, but the added detail is so worth it. I can definitely see where you filled in some areas. It is always fun to see your progress!

  19. Beautiful crochet afghan! I had to do a double take to ensure it was yarn. I do see the progress you made on your hand stitching project. It is slow going when you have to change colors a lot.
