Days of Math

I have been stitching a little bit here and a little bit there. My stitching days are waning as I will be working long days at the end of next week and the beginning of the following week grading August Regents exams. For those of you who are unfamiliar with regents exams, they are New York State's standardized final exams that are mainly given in June. The August regents are for those students taking summer school and/or who failed the June exam.
After that my son will be visiting for over a week. My daughter will visit a few of those days also. I am so looking forward to their visit.

I have made more progress on my Prairie Schooler Santa.
I am deep into stitching green right now with my vintage floss.

Baker Beach is definitely moving along. I try to spend a solid half hour or more at a time so that I see some progress. This is where I was last week:
I have finished most of the black stitching and have moved on to a variety of browns, rusts and maroons. This is where I am as of Saturday.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching and on Monday I will link up with Super Mom - No Cape for the Stitchery Link Party. Pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are up to.
My cherry tomato crop is ripening quickly. These orange tomatoes with red striping are pretty tasty.
I have also been spending quite some time with this book.

Yup, it is a Math text book. I have been hired as an adjunct instructor at my husband's university alma mater. It is part-time and requires some brushing up on my college math. I have been busy writing lesson plans, homework assignments, review work and exams. Hubby is part-time Computer Science and Mathematics professor at the same university.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love to see your stitching projects each week. My daughter and I are math lovers too! She is an accountant. My husband did not inherit the math gene...

  2. Back in the day when my eyes were in better shape, I did a lot of counted cross stitch. I loved the Prairie Schooler patterns ... especially their Santas. Yours is coming along nicely, as is your Baker Beach ... that's a very intense, but very stunning project to undertake.

  4. I have to echo what Kathy said...back in the day I loved the Prairie Schooler patterns. Vintage floss?

Good luck on the math brush up! I have a degree in computer science and have worked at the same job for almost 30 years. Boy, have things changed! Good thing that math doesn't!

Baker's Beach is going to be beautiful when it is done.

  6. Interesting...I have a degree in Accounting and computer programming! There seem to be a lot that quilt or do crafts. Must need to exercise our creative side after all that number work. Your santa is coming along nicely.
