I would like to know how it got to be September already. You can feel Autumn in the air. Yes, it is still shorts weather here in New York, but there is a definite chill in the air when I get up in the early morning. It’s dark before 7:30 pm now. Sigh…
The cooler weather seems to have energized me though. I’m back to quilting Having a Ball. You can see that I’m working on the bright green at the moment.
The toe of the Christmas Morning stocking by Janlynn is finished. I even did the backstitch on the red stripe. Now I am working my way up the stocking.
All the granny square centers are complete and I’ve started on the outer row of white. As you can see from this bag there are plenty of centers to be outlined.
Current reading is The Spectacular by Fiona Davis. So far it is as wonderful as her previous books.
It is about a Rockette and an incident from the 1950s. This author picks a famous building and composes a story around it. Obviously this one is at Radio City Music Hall. Being from Long Island I have had the privilege of seeing the Rockettes there a few times. It is always a wonderful show.
I will be joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching and Frederique at the Quilting Patch today. I hope you take some time to sit back with some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
It’s cooler here in the morning as well. Nice to see you are back to your hand quilting. I need to pick one of my tops that are done and hand quilt it…a good project for cooler weather. The stocking is progressing well. I’m curious about how your crochet is going to look. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteGail at the cozy quilter.
I know what you mean about it being September! I don't know how it happens either!! I was wondering how you are coming on your "Ball" quilting. Thanks for the update. I love this project of yours!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteI had put "Ball" aside after our trip to CA and just recently picked it up again. I am trying to get some kind of rhythm going with rotating the projects that I am working on. I don't like them to get forgotten. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteTrabajas muchísimo. Feliz costura y BESICOS.
ReplyDeleteGreat work on all your projects! I love the leaves and berries on the stocking, and the little girl is soon to be finished! Thank you for sharing your work in progress and linking up.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such lovely projects to show!
ReplyDeleteAll 3 projects are making great progress. I especially love the stocking. Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll have to look up that author. Enjoy your stitching.
ReplyDeletewe saw the rockettes and it was FABULOUS! I was blown away by the show. I'm about to start the third and last holiday sweater for a grandchild.
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe of your work on the Christmas stocking. Counted cross stitch is so easy to loose your place. Yet me make it look easy.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I have no trouble keeping track of where I am on counted cross stitch. I know that isn't true for everyone. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteBeautiful quilting and beautiful stitching!
