I did it again. I caught my toe on a door saddle and fell last Saturday. This time I badly twisted my right knee. The orthopedist thinks I tore my ACL though not bad enough to require surgery. I will have an MRI on Tuesday. This is my 3rd MRI since the beginning of July...one for my hip, one for my spine and now my knee. UGH!!!! The orthopedist drained some fluid from knee and prescribed a large brace.
I will start PT on Monday.
This past week our daughter and granddaughter came for a visit. Our granddaughter's daycare was closed for the week and our daughter needed us to watch her while she worked from our house two of the days they were here. Thankfully the brace made it possible for me to get around the house fairly easily. The nice weather meant we could play both inside and out. Our granddaughter likes to do puzzles.
She finished three 100 piece puzzles while she was here.
Hubby, our daughter and granddaughter enjoyed some time in the pool a few days also. I wasn't sure if I should go in so I just watched.
I didn't do any crafting while they were here as I don't like needles to be out with a two year old. I have been working on the Christmas stocking a little bit since they left on Friday morning. I am still stitching the little girl's nightgown.
I am surprised at how long it is taking to complete.
I haven't worked on anything else this past week.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. I hope you take some time to sit back with some tea or coffeen and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
so sorry about your leg - it can be one thing after another isn't it. I hope you heal fast and not need surgery
ReplyDeleteOh no!! I wish you a speedy recovery! It's good that you could at least enjoy some time with family and sounds you still managed to get a little bit done. It's looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteThankfully I can get around because I have the brace, but I am really tired of just sitting even if it means I can do more crafting. It was wonderful to spend time with my granddaughter though.
DeleteCross stitch stockings take a deceptively long time to stitch.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter looks like she had a fun visit with you. Sorry to hear about your knee. I hope it heals quickly. Maybe being in the pool will be good physio…
Take care

You can stitch every all day .
Rest up this week hugs June.
I'm sorry you had a fall, Cathie. Hopefully the MRI confirms you won't need surgery. How fortunate the brace allowed you to get around all week. My goodness, your granddaughter certainly enjoys puzzles. It looks as if she had a lot of fun times with both you and your husband.
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm so sorry to hear that, Cathie! I hope you're not in too much pain, and that the brace helps. So glad you were able to enjoy your daughter and granddaughter for the week. The little girl's robe on the stocking looks like pretty intense stitching, but you're getting there. Have a relaxing Sunday!
ReplyDeleteOh no, Cathie! Hope your PT works wonders for you. Glad you did get to enjoy your granddaughter. Your stitching is pretty.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are in the wars cathie! Wearing that brace in the hot weather can’t be much fun either! Take care. Sarah quilting by the sea
ReplyDeleteThankfully my house had central A/C so I am not feeling the hot weather except when I have to go somewhere.
DeleteOH NO!!!! you need to be wrapped in bubble wrap!! I hope you heal fast.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Cathie: I am so sorry you have to wear a brace, I hope you heal quickly, I just could not di an MRI, they would have to put me out completely. What fun to have your granddaughter with you for a few days. Fun photo of Grandfather and his sweet granddaughter. Nice progress on the Christmas stocking.
