Progress

I finished my grandson’s Christmas ornament. It is a star shaped iced gingerbread cookie made from felt.

It is personalized like the others.

I’m so glad that all three ornaments for my grandchildren are ready to be given to them in December.

A lot of progress has been made on my youngest granddaughter’s Christmas stocking. The little girl’s nightgown is done except for French knots and backstitching which will get done later.

Now I’m working my way down to the toe of the stocking. The lavender is the end of the left side of the stocking.

Another block has been quilted on Having a Ball (the pale green one on top). There are now 16 of the 36 blocks quilted.

Of course, all this progress is due to the fact that I am not able to do much else at the moment. The MRI that I had on Tuesday showed both meniscus are torn and there is a slight fracture of the tibia. I got the report from the radiology center. The ACL is fine. I’m wearing my brace and will see how the orthopedist wants to move forward on Monday. I’ve gone to PT twice and I have no pain.

I will be joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching and Frederique at the Quilting Patch today. I hope you take some time to sit back with some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Yikes…you really did a number on your knee. I hope the dr’s appt goes well and that they can do something to patch you up. The bright side…you are getting lots of stitching done. Lucas’ ornament is cute. You have added lots of stitches to the stocking and your quilt too. I will pick out a quilt for hand quilting when the weather cools off. I have several tops in line to be quilted. I purchased 2 fall cross stitch patterns and have Aida cloth and thread ready to go. I just want to finish my rug hooking first. Take care. 1. I can't go up and down stairs using my right leg as that is painful, but walking with the brace on is pain free. Thanks for visiting.

  6. Hello Cathie: The ornament for Lucas is positively adorable, I love working with felt. You have done a lot of stitching on the Christmas stocking; I am not a fan of back stitching but sometimes have to do so. The quilt you are working on is beautiful, I am very curious, do you quilt each block and then sew them together or quilt them as on large design? its my mind I am a curious person.
It is good to hear you have no pain during PT, I pray you heal quickly.

  7. Your grandson's Christmas ornament is a lovely finish and the Christmas stocking is coming along nicely. Those greens and purple are lovely together. Having a Ball is looking wonderful .The leg brace sounds like it is doing a good job in preventing pain but those stairs seem to be a problem. It seems as if you will be doing a lot of hand stitching over the next little while. Take care, Cathie.

  9. Such a beautiful ornament that I’m sure your precious grandson will enjoy for years to come! I’ve enjoyed watching your progress on your granddaughters stocking. What beautiful memories you are making. Your hand quilting is lovely, the perfect balance of highlighting the colored fabric while providing a place for the eye to “rest”.
I am so grateful you have no pain! May you heal with no side effects.

  12. What a cut ornament! And the quilt you are working on is very pretty. So good that you aren't in pain but what a hassle to wear a big ole boot.
