My Log Cabin Star (Judy Martin’s Timberline) quilt is all ready to be given to my daughter and son-in-law. I finished sewing the binding on Thursday.
This was the one big item that I wanted to finish in 2024. I never thought it would take me right up to the end of the year to do so.
I’m almost finished with my granddaughter’s I-Spy quilt. I finished the quilting and sewed the binding to the front. Yesterday, I embroidered the label. Today my slow stitching will be hand sewing the label and the binding to the quilt back .
Our tree is all lit and decorated.
Each year I like to try out a new cookie recipes from the hundreds that I have clipped over the years or are in my cookbooks. This year I made Confetti Logs from a 1991 clipping. Yes, you read that year correctly.
They are tasty, but nothing special so the clipping will be trashed. What a shame to save something for so many years that wasn't worth it. I have to get around to trying more of my clipped recipes.
I added some stitches to the Woodland Babies birth announcement. The tree trunk is getting bigger and now has its heart.
We had a little bit of snow on the grass yesterday. The weather is supposed to be bitterly cold the next few days so it may last until Christmas, but I won’t hold my breath.
I love when there is snow on the ground for Christmas.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanza! All these celebrations are this coming week.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
You have had a very productive week! I love your daughters quilt! She will cherish it and feel loved every time she uses it. Your second I spy will soon be done. We have a tiny bit of snow here but my SIL got over a foot in the last couple of days. Your cross stitch tree is growing too! When is the baby due?
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Gail at the cozy quilter.
What a gorgeous quilt! I love snow on the ground for Christmas too!
ReplyDeleteThe Log Cabin Star is amazing, Cathie! I've enjoyed following along as you worked on it. Kudos to you for sticking with it - your daughter and family will love it, and the I Spy quilt, too. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! What an amazing quilt. I love your color combination. I had a friend make it and remember her lamenting the challenge with all those pieces. I started the Snake one in fall colors; it still sits. So I really am impressed with your big finish! Enjoy your holidays.!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Cathie and Family: Your quilt is beautiful, the colors are lovely, the I Spy Quilt is adorable, the Birth Sampler is so pretty, looking forward to seeing it completely finished.

jealous of your snow! Climate changed three years ago in Colorado and it never seems to get snow like we did 5 years ago., temps in mid to high 60's too
ReplyDeleteLOVE your tree, your stitching too
LeeAnna
Don't be jealous. Due to climate change we don't get all that much any more either. I like a nice 3-5 inch snow. Last year we had none. The snow that fell is ust about an inch. The only reason it is still around is because it is bitterly cold here.
Deletethe log cabin turned out great - Merry Christmas -I tried a couple new recipes for cookies -too one is ok the other great
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is stunning 😍 I giggled at you comment regarding the recipe. How many things do we hold on to unnecessarily? I'd love to have you join my Sew and Tell party at Melva Loves Scraps. Merry Christmas 🎄
