It's October!

It is the first of October and it is finally feeling like Autumn here on Long Island. It was sweater weather this morning although it got warmer as the day went on.
I found a few minutes today to add some stitches to Baker Beach. This is how it looked last weekend.
I have finished stitching that grey color across the rows.
It isn't much, but something is better than nothing and now I get to move on to a different shade of grey. Oh joy....

I was hoping to find time to go clothes/shoe shopping today, but I really wanted to work on Baker Beach. So I decided to do some online shopping instead. I am not a big fan of online shopping for clothes, because they aren't always what I was hoping for when they arrive. Hubby and I went to a major nearby mall last night and I came home empty handed. I wasn't in the mood to go to a nearby outlet mall today, so I sat down on the computer and found some good deals on clothing. I will not buy shoes online so that will be next weekend's chore.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. You know how much I stitched today, now go see what other bloggers are stitching. I will be joining the Stitchery Link Party at Super Mom - No Cape tomorrow. Be sure to visit this site also.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Bit by bit, you will finish this picture! I am not very tall and always have trouble finding clothes that fit! I need to try everything on so no online shopping for me. Hope you find some more time to sew this week.

  2. Stitching sounds much better than shopping to me too. I have finally resorted to online shoe shopping as I have such a dreadfully narrow foot to fit.

  3. Oh yes... stitching is WAY more fun than clothes shopping!
It's one of those chores that I procrastinate also!

  4. I too would rather have a crafting session than go shopping.

  5. Baker Beach is growing and looking lovely.
I need some winter coat and shoes / boots too.

  6. I enjoy seeing the progress you make each week on this amazing Baker Beach. I too like online shopping. And, I can return the unwanted items to my nearby mall store. I hope what you ordered will work for you. Being in southern California, I feel I only have a one season wardrobe; hot weather or nice weather. I miss the beauty of the four seasons. Have a wonderful week. Pat

  7. I dread clothing shopping and it would be easier to shop online but sizes vary too much these days depending on the brand. Much rather stitch!! Your nearing the end of Baker! Love your header for fall! Mary

  8. Bakers beach is just awesome! I'm like you not a fan of shopping but generally I can find clothes when the seasons change so I hope your online shop was a success!

  13. Hey Cathie... finally making it here... life in the fast lane in my life presently remains!! But better late than never to see your wonderful progress.. and a different shade of grey in your future.. lol!
You know I rarely buy anything but a tshirt or something online but do most all of my fabric shopping online and notions too! How about you??? We do go thrift shopping a lot too though.. so I get my fill of "shopping in public places" there :)
Hope your week is passing happily!

  14. Your picture is so close to being finished! I know what you mean about needing to be in the mood for shopping. I buy most things online these days. I can’t be bothered with the shops!

  15. Every stitch counts!

Clothes shopping for me is hit and miss. Sometimes I find just what I want but most times I come away empty handed. Which is good for the pocket book not so good for my wardrobe. :)

Thanks so much for linking up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and the link back. Aloha hugs!
