Three Needle Bind Off

I learned a new knitting technique this week: the three needle bind-off. Thank goodness for video tutorials. They make it so easy to understand. This is absolutely an easy seaming method. I was an expert at it before I finished the 24 stitches on the first seam.
Yes, those are the shoulder seams of Mom's vest. Now I have to go buy a couple of needles that I don't have to finish the collar, the button/button-hole bands and the armholes. I should be able to finish this very soon.

Our Christmas tree is finally decorated. Doesn't it look pretty?
I gave you both the night and day versions.
Our tree is filled with a whole variety of ornaments: hand-made, gifts, some from my childhood and my children's childhood. Almost all the ornaments have memories attached to them. The tree skirt is one of two that I made years ago for my kids when they each had a small tree in their bedrooms.

I also have a small tree on our front porch next to my kids old sled filled with "packages".
It makes me smile every time I enter our house.

These geraniums on the front porch are from the summer. I don't think they got the memo that Winter is here. They are just blooming away.
I don' t have the heart to get rid of them.

This plant is also in bloom in front of the house.
The unseasonally warm weather we are having has all the plants confused. There are some flowering trees in bloom in our neighborhood also. We are supposed to have record high temperatures for Christmas Eve.

I will be joining Ginny for Yarn Along today. What are you knitting/crocheting? What are you reading? Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are up to. As for my own reading, I will still be working with this Pre-Calculus book soon so that I can prepare my lectures for the next university semester.
I want to get a head-start so I am not rushing each week.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. pretty tree and the setting with the red/white check chairs is perfect. We too still have plants outside - I have two hanging ferns on the porch that have not completely died despite having frost two times, they are sheltered just enough.

  2. Those video tutorials really do make it easier to learn. Your tree looks lovely. Just perfect between those two chairs. I think all the plant life in the north east is confused! Have a great Christmas Cathie.

  4. Video tutorials are what taught me to knit, I wouldn't ever have worked it out without them. Yay for learning a new technique :)
