Autumn and Christmas

As I have been for the last few posts, I am still working on Autumn Angel. There are just not enough hours on the weekend to get her done and there haven't been even a few minutes during the week. Well, there have been a few, but I have been exhausted so there has been no interest in stitching. This is where she is now:

I still have to finish stitching the word Autumn and another bird on the right. Then all that is left is the black back-stitching to complete.

This came in the mail the other day.
I have had a magnetic advent calendar tree since my children were little. They always loved adding ornaments to the tree. One child got the odd days, one the evens. It switched each year. I would like each of my children to have their own advent tree now that they are on their own. I will start on this in the new year. There is no way it will be done for this Christmas. If I like it, I will buy a second one in the future if it is still available. I have a cross-stitch pattern for one of these that I bought a few years ago, but the cost of the necessary linen and floss is really quite high. I am not sure that I want to make that investment.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching today. Tomorrow, I will join the Stitchery Link Party at Super Mom - No Cape. Pop on over to these sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

I used to get such a kick out of our advent calenders when I was a kid! :)

Our children always enjoyed the advent calendar too. Now the grandchildren put the ornaments on ours.

You will have your angel done in no time at all. She looks so sweet.

Love your little Autumn Angel. I still hang the large advent calendar that granny made for the children when they were small (and yes I still put choc in the 24 tiny stockings)

I just noticed that the angel's face is a heart shape... so fun!
Enjoy your stitching!

The Angel is so sweet. I had forgotten how long it takes to cross-stitch a piece until I started on the stockings for my granddaughter and granddaughter-in-law. Enjoy your stitching today.

She certainly is beautiful. I love Advent calendars and also the Advent wreath is a joy lighting the candles each Sunday. What a wonderful tradition.

I'm sorry you've been too tired for much stitching! I love a good Advent calendar - we have one with little pockets but I really like the magnetic idea.

Some weeks are just that draining. Hope you have more energy this week. Your Angel is looking darling. The Advent tree looks like a fun project. We did an Advent calendar when DT was little, we haven't the last couple of years, too much other stuff going on.

I know how you feel. By the time I get home, there's no time to stitch. Your angel is cute. The advent tree looks like fun.

Not much time, maybe, but definitely some progress showing. Not far to go! The tree is lovely, and how sweet to make one. I hope you are keeping the original for the day you have grandchildren at Christmas. =)
