In my post three weeks ago I had finally finished stitching the 9th of 24 pages. I realized though that at the current stitching pace, I wouldn't finish Three Boats on a Tropical Beach for another 7.5 years! That is just not acceptable to me, so I decided that I have to dedicate time almost every day to working on this project. This is where Three Boats was at the last update 3 weeks ago.
I decided that I would aim to stitch 100 stitches every day in order to try to finish a page a month. That would still be another 15 months of stitching. I then decided that I am going to aim for a finish by the end of 2027. That is a reasonable goal yet still allows me to try to stitch 100 stitches a day. I have succeeded in the 100 stitches almost every day in the last 3 weeks. Some days more, some days less, but steady progress is happening. This is how Three Boats looks now.
Are you as pleased and amazed as I am? I am almost halfway done with the next page. Of course, my granddaughter is here this weekend so Three Boats is stored away from toddler hands for a few days, but that is okay as playing with her is much more important.
Wish me luck at being able to keep up this pace.

Thanks for stopping by!
Wow! You got a lot done in the last three weeks! Am I remembering correctly that this is to be a gift for your daughter?
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend with your granddaughter and her parents. You can catch up on your stitches later. Gail at the cozy quilter
Good work on your Three Boats piece--it is looking lovely, Cathie;))) Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeletehow large of a project in size are the boats I can see they are very tiny stitches.
ReplyDeleteI do hope the plan to stitch 100 stitches a day works for you.
ReplyDeleteYou are funny! I also do that kind of calculations to see when I would be done. Protect your neck if you are marathoning those stitches.
ReplyDeleteWhen I realized I was looking at years and years of working on this project, I just couldn't stomach it because I have been putting off working on other large projects that I am looking forward to until Three Boats is finished. Now I am determined to get it done, though the stitching is bothering my elbow more than my neck.
DeleteWow!!! Great progress!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThat's a lot of stitching. Your plan to stitch 100 stitches per day would probably work for me too if I was doing a full coverage project.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to be adding so many stitches each day. It has renewed my interest in this project.
DeleteYou made amazing progress 😍 I have found setting time aside each day really does get the job done. Love that you have a plan set for this - I think you'll be amazed at how far you'll get each 3 weeks 🌹
