It rained all day on Friday. It didn’t quite wash away all the snow from four weeks ago. Yes, there has been snow on the ground on Long Island for all that time. I have lived here all of my 65 years and don’t remember snow on the ground for that long ever. The weather prediction is for more snow on Sunday and Monday. Really?! Ugh.
Of course, having Olympics on the TV from early morning to late night all day every day has helped me to deal with the decidedly depressing weather. It has also contributed to great progress on my crafts.
The background of Having a Ball is almost 3/4 quilted. I have a nice rhythm going with it now.
The second sock is well on its way to completion. The heel is done and I’m heading toward the toe.
I looked in my stash and found this pretty bamboo sock yarn.
I can’t wait to start another pair. I want a different pattern. If anyone has a favorite, please share it with me.
The I-Spy quilt sandwich is pinned and ready for me to begin machine quilting.
I finished reading The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.
I will be joining Frederique at the Quilting Patch on Saturday and Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. I hope you take some time to relax with some tea, coffee or hot chocolate and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
Love your header , you have been busy , lovely share of hobbies . Have a good week hugs June.
ReplyDeleteLove that header piece! And look at how you are almost there with the beautiful quilting on Having a Ball. I wish I could knit socks and I've heard so much about bamboo wool. Yours looks so lovely. Happy Stitching all the things from me!
ReplyDeleteOh stay safe out there on LI, Cathie--here on the SE CT coast they are predicting 12+" and blizzard conditions--so glad we got our generator!!
ReplyDeleteYour "Having a Ball" is really coming along so well--it is a lovely piece--such nice work on this one...
i am still dithering about here on what to make next with my
pre-cuts: charms and jelly rolls and layer cake leftovers!!
I just cannot seem to get excited about anything lately.
I think I am a bit world weary lately.. But, I am still looking...
hugs, Julierose
You have had such a cold snowy Winter this year. It is time for Spring! Your background quilting is so perfect for the ball! I've so enjoyed watching your progress on this project!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting up to 2 feet of snow by tomorrow's end and more midweek. There is also a snow storm currently predicted for the beginning of the following week. I really hope not. So glad you like how Having a Ball is coming along.
DeleteLooks like you are getting lots of snow today…perfect stitching weather as long as the lights stay on. Having a ball is almost done! Your hand quilting is adding wonderful dimension and texture to this quilt. It’s been fun watching the Olympics and cheering for the athletes. Take care. Gail at the cozy quilter
