I finished the two-tone blue hat that I was knitting.
I really like it and may keep it for myself instead of donating it. Now, of course, I had to cast on another hat for donating. I’m using up scrap yarn, but still trying to make it appealing to wear. I like this color combination.
I’ve made a whole lot of progress on my granddaughter’s stocking. Except for some backstitching and French knots, the main part of the stocking is complete.
The bottom border that is under the name just needs some more green leaves. I’ve charted my granddaughter’s name to stitch next and then there is the top border. The borders stitch up quickly. I can see a finish coming soon.
Christmas decorating is moving along.
Hubby and I started with the outdoor lights and I set up the village.
I also took out my set of Nikko Christmas dishes.
I will share more holiday vignettes as I finish them. I’m going a little overboard this year as all of the grandchildren will be here just after Christmas.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching tomorrow. I hope you take some time to relax with some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
Your granddaughters stocking is beautiful! I rather like the mixed wool hat you are currently knitting. Your Christmas decorations and china look lovely.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that everyone will be there during the holidays! Your decorations will delight your grandchildren. My mother in law had Christmas dishes that we used for Christmas dinner at her place. The stocking looks great! Enjoy the last bit of stitching on it. Take care. Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeletehow many stitches do you cast on for the hat? I keep thinking I should make something like that with some scrap yarn I have but haven't found a super easy pattern - but then I haven't really looked lol - yours looks like I could handle it.
ReplyDeleteYour hats look great! That is something I'd like to learn how to do. I know how to knit, just haven't done much of it in a long time! The stocking is getting closer and closer. Your house looks very festive, and I love the village, too. Enjoy your stitching today, Cathie!
ReplyDeleteAre you planning on getting your granddaughter's stocking finished first this Christmas? It seems to be almost done. Pretty outside lights, and I like your little groupings inside. What fun to have the family all there over Christmas.
