December Stitch Along Update

As I stated in the last Stitch Along post most of my cross stitch focus has been on my granddaughter’s Christmas stocking. That being said, I only spent one short afternoon stitching on Three Boats. This is how it looked 3 weeks ago.

This is where it is now. You can see that I filled in some of the open holes.

Our next Stitch Along post won’t be until January 18th.

This Stitch Along is hosted every three weeks by Avis at Sewing Beside the Sea who kindly sends us the needed posting reminders.

Grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and take some time to visit the other bloggers below who are part of this stitch-along. There is a wide variety of stitching projects. These talented stitchers are from all over the world, so please allow for the time differences and check back for each post.

Stitching and decorating

I finished the two-tone blue hat that I was knitting.

I really like it and may keep it for myself instead of donating it. Now, of course, I had to cast on another hat for donating. I’m using up scrap yarn, but still trying to make it appealing to wear. I like this color combination.

Hubby has requested a hat like this, so I will be making another once this is finished.

I’ve made a whole lot of progress on my granddaughter’s stocking. Except for some backstitching and French knots, the main part of the stocking is complete.

The bottom border that is under the name just needs some more green leaves. I’ve charted my granddaughter’s name to stitch next and then there is the top border. The borders stitch up quickly. I can see a finish coming soon.

Christmas decorating is moving along.

Hubby and I started with the outdoor lights and I set up the village.

I also took out my set of Nikko Christmas dishes.

I will share more holiday vignettes as I finish them. I’m going a little overboard this year as all of the grandchildren will be here just after Christmas.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching tomorrow. I hope you take some time to relax with some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
