If I didn’t comment on your blog last weekend, it’s because I was in California and was a little busy enjoying my two grandchildren. We traveled so Hubby could meet our new granddaughter and we could celebrate our grandson’s 2nd birthday. Here are a few pics. The birthday boy had some fun with his dad in the local park.
Grammy and Grandpa got some cuddles with our new granddaughter who will be 3 months old soon.
We had a wonderful time.
It is finally getting warm here. Our pool was opened on Friday. Here’s the view from our living room of the pool and our new outdoor dining set.
I have done a little bit of crafting over the last two weeks. Charming Santa’s face has almost all of his beading done.
I have crocheted 16 of 221 granny squares. This is my TV watching craft.
There is no timetable for its completion.
Two more blocks have been quilted on Having a Ball. 8 out of 36 have now been quilted.
The teal green block is the next one to be quilted.
Hubby and I went for a walk after dinner and found this little fledgling robin sitting on Hubby's car as we went out.
By the time we returned it was no longer there, but the parents were flying around so it must have been in the flower bed. Later on I saw it on the fence on the side of our house with one of the parents. It could fly a little bit. The parents were watching so we just left it alone.
I will be joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching, Frederique at the Quilting Patch and Alycia at Quilty Girl. Make yourself some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
nice to get in a trip to see the grandchildren when you can - sounds like you had fun.
ReplyDeleteGrandkids are the best! Glad you and your hubby were able to spend time with yours! Your Having a Ball quilting looks terrific!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteYes they are! I am enjoying working on Having a Ball.
DeleteWonderful picture of you, your husband and your granddaughter. Clearly everyone enjoyed themselves. All your projects are moving along nicely.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We had a great visit.
DeleteI’m happy that you were able to be at the birthday celebration for your grandson! Cuddles with the baby —-wonderful for both of you! The beads really enhance Santa’s beard. On to his hat next? Happy stitching! Gail at the cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteHi Cathie: You are so lucky to be grandparents, what fun for Dad and Son to go for a walk in the park. Love the granny square color combination, red, white and blue very patriotic.
ReplyDeleteLove the Mill Hill Santas, the cross stitch and beading are perfect together, you are making wonderful progress on the quilt.
We have three Robins nests under our deck; they are my favorite bird.
Have a wonderful week
Catherine
That's the perfect reason for a trip, Cathie! Looks like your California grands are healthy and happy. Your Santa project is moving right along, and I love the look of your granny squares, too. Have a wonderful slow Sunday of stitching!
ReplyDeleteExciting you got to visit the grands! We swam in our pool yesterday for the first time (80 degrees water temp in Ohio.)
ReplyDeleteOooh, precious family time! What a lovely photo of you two and the sweet baby girl ;) Your new outdoor furniture looks pretty, it looks like a great place to enjoy a sewing session, and watch for little birds! Thank you for sharing and linking up!
ReplyDeleteOh my I envy you holding such a precious little bundle. Beautiful photo. I agree, crocheting is a perfect hobby for in front of the tv and wonderful to move along your Having a Ball too. I found a fledgling robin on the ground last year and worried but a robin was nearby and they all moved off as I didn't see it again when I checked. I read that this happens and to leave a fledgling alone if you find one. All good stuff, Cathie.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like both your hubby and grandson were having fun! I love how tenderly Grandpa is looking at your granddaughter! Your Charmed Santa Face caught my eye at Kathy’s blog. Pretty granny squares!
