After several days of no air conditioning on our second floor, it was finally fixed on Tuesday. I sit on the second floor landing, in front of a large window, when working on Three Boats. It has great light and I can place the lap stand on the loveseat to work on my stitching.
Needless to say, it was way too warm up there to work on Three Boats for any length of time. This is where I was with my stitching three weeks ago.
I tried to make up for the lost stitching time this week and added quite a bit of stitching since Tuesday. Of course I was able to stitch in the week before the A/C went out. I like my progress so far. The fronds on the palm tree on the left are almost finished.
I hope to be able to finish this page by the end of July. I think that should be easily doable.
This Stitch along is hosted every three weeks by Avis at Sewing Beside the Sea who kindly sends us the needed posting reminders.
Grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and take some time to visit the other bloggers below who are part of this stitch-along. There is a wide variety of stitching projects. These talented stitchers are from all over the world, so please allow for the time differences and check back for each post. We are welcoming Helen back after a brief break.

Well done it is looking lovely ,
ReplyDeleteHave fun hugs June.
Wow! You got quite a bit done despite the A/C repair break! Looking good! Gail at the Cozy quilter
ReplyDeleteHi Cathie: This is a boatload of stitch's, so sorry your air condition went out, I find it hard to stitch if it is too warm.
ReplyDeleteLovely progress on your stitching.
Catherine
Definitely see that palm tree is nearly done. Lots achieved despite your AC being out of action! Sarah quilting by the sea
ReplyDeleteI added some more stitches today. Right now it is a lot of confettie stitching.
DeleteYou really made some awesome progress despite the heat. Looking great. Have I ever mentioned I grew up in Wantagh? Always love reading about my old stomping grounds :)
ReplyDeleteI believe you have mentioned that you grew up there. I have lived in Massapequa all my life.
Deletehmm just commented and not sure if it went thru so, 2nd try, You really made some fabulous progress despite the summer heat.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why you'd struggle to get stitches done in the heat, glad AC got repaired eventually. We don't have AC we just have open windows and try to let the heat out at night. Doesn't help we have a cat clumsy cat that cannot be trusted with open windows
ReplyDeleteThere was central A/C when we moved into this house. It gets very, very muggy here with 90+% humidity. I don't think I could stand not to have A/C. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteThat is some amazing progress! The palm trees are so realistic!
ReplyDeletethat's great progress Cathie ^^ We don't have a/c and summer time is always very sweaty & hot for me, but I console myself with the thought October isn't that far away.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could stand the muggyness any more without A/C. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteGreat progress!
ReplyDeleteyay for AC!!!! beautiful stitching and now it's in a cooler room!
ReplyDeleteFantastic progress again! No air con needed here. Our summer is still in hiding!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, it is 87 degrees F here with high humidity. You can break out in a sweat just watering the flower pots.
DeleteI don't know how you can handle the heat -- we melt at anything above 81! Lovely progress on this beautiful piece.
ReplyDeleteThat is what the A/C is for. I detest being hot and sweaty. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteIt has been very hot here in the UK recently also, though this happens so rarely we do not consider air con as essential. Maybe we will start to reconsider this opinion as global warming continues and our summers get hotter. Your stitching is looking good, such a big project but such lovely colours so far. xx
ReplyDeleteI have lived with central A/C for 37 years now. I found sleeping without the A/C very difficult. Thank goodness the downstairs unit was working for some daytime relief. I am glad you like my cross-stitch.
