It is still August and it is still hot and humid here on Long Island, NY. It has also been cloudy and rainy so we haven't been enjoying the pool much lately. You can start to feel the change in the weather towards Autumn. With that in mind, I have been working on my younger granddaughter's sweater. The yarn is bamboo and I am having difficulty keeping a consistent tautness at times. There are a few parts of rows that are definitely looser. The back of the sweater looks pretty good though.
I added another log to each of the 64 blocks. 16 of the blocks are waiting on the right to have the next log added.
The quilting on my mom's Churn Dash has slowed as I want to see if I can finish the sweater quickly. There also have been no stitches added to the Merry Christmas Snow Globe cross stitch. No photo updates on these.

ReplyDeleteUnusual weather patterns have occurred all over the world this summer. For me, the season has passed too quickly! Your sweater looks lovely to me. Log cabin blocks are a favorite of mine so I look forward to watching your progress!

ReplyDeleteI know what bamboo batting is like but I've never used bamboo yarn. If it's like the batting, it won't be a hot sweater, just a comfort sweater.

ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful color for the sweater you're working on - do you block your sweaters when they're done? I am not a knitter, but I remember my mom doing that and I think it helped with some of those issues. The blues you're using for the log cabin blocks are really pretty - nice progress!
The sweater you are making is lovely-the blue color is one of my favorites. We have been hit in Mid Missouri with heat and humity on steroids. Tho no drought this year and the crops are loving it.

ReplyDeleteThis is my first time knitting with bamboo. I wanted a light weight yarn as heavy is not needed in California. I am paying more attention to my perle rows as that seems to be where the tension problem is occuring.
