The iced gingerbread snowflake felt ornament for my older granddaughter is finished! I embroidered the personalization.
Then I put the front and back together and stuffed it.
Next will be the iced gingerbread star ornament for my grandson.
These work up fast. I hope to have this done fairly soon.
I thought I would have the little girl's nightgown on the stocking finished by the end of this week, but there is a lot more stitching to do than I thought. This is where the stocking is as of Saturday.
I took some time to bake this week. I had two bananas that were going bad so I made three little Blueberry banana breads. I have the original Taste of Home June/July 2003 magazine recipe, but the link is the same recipe.
Two of the breads will go to my MIL who always appreciates my baking.
Hubby and I enjoyed two small outings this week. One afternoon we drove 15 minutes to Wantagh Park. That is pronounced won-TAW for your information. We walked along the path and sat on a bench overlooking Wantagh Bay. There were some boats on the bay and we enjoyed watching the seagulls, terns, ducks and geese.
On Thursday we decided to drive 1 hour east on Long Island to Terra Vite Vineyard for lunch.
We have been there before and enjoy their paninis with a glass of wine. The paninis were as delicious as always, but the wine was disappointing. I had the White Merlot on the left and Hubby had the Chardonnay.
A couple near us recommended the White Merlot. Everyone has different tastes.
I will be joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching and Frederique at the Quilting Patch today. Make yourself some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.
Thanks for stopping by!
What a delightful read. Thank you !
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to give your grandchildren Christmas tree ornaments made by you. They will be delighted.
ReplyDeleteI plan on making an ornament for each grandchild every year for as long as I can. I have been buying kits for future years and looking through my saved craft magazines and books for other ideas.
DeleteYes on the wine we all have different taste. I like some white wine but not all and now don't drink any as it upsets my stomach. Pretty stitching on all and love the scenery
ReplyDeleteThe ornements and the stocking are beautiful, you work fast! Despite the wine, it looks like this little trip was fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and linking up today!
That is the sweetest ornament! :) and my all that full coverage is time consuming, isn't it. Love these breads and loaves. My mother used to get Taste of Home...great recipes. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to get out and enjoy days without the humidity. The Christmas ornament is pretty and I love the Christmas stocking you have been working on. The little girl holding the teddy is very sweet. Those blueberry banana breads sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful ornament for Natalie! You do a great job on these. The stocking is coming along. The child’s nightgown has a lot of stitches in it! I have made three cross stitch stockings…one for my daughter and one for each of my nieces. Maybe some day there will be little ones in the family to make stockings for. Lovely places for date days with your husband. My husband and I went for a picnic the other day before seeing a play. Take care. Gail at the cozy quilter.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the ornaments! Every year my sister-in-law makes me a sentimental ornament. Memories are made.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely ornaments!
ReplyDeleteThose ornaments are adorable, Cathie! I love how they're stuffed a little so they really do look like a cookie. Lunch at the winery sounds lovely! We enjoy doing that, too. I haven't tried white merlot, but the chardonnay sounds good!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Cathie: The Snowflake ornament is so sweet, the Gingerbread ornament is also adorable, is the Janlynn stocking a new design, just curious, I love it. Your beard looks yummy, thank-you for the recipe link, your outdoor photos are so welcoming, it will be 91 today with high humidity, but I like it that way, so sad the wine was not so good.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
what a beautiful restful outing!!! Yay for you getting the ornaments done. They are delightful.
