A ball and a lamb

So I sat down and really looked at how to make the Windows’ intersections come together better. I decided that I needed to make sure that all four wonky corners met in the center first. What I did was basically sew the four corners together at the points clockwise. I checked the intersection and then moved on to sewing one inch on either side of it. This worked perfectly for most of the intersections where the second and third rows met. The ball for Windows into my World is complete. Now I must appliqué it to the background fabric.

I must say that I am pretty proud of myself with this quilt.

The lamb is done. It is so much cuter than the kitty.

I went to my local Joann fabrics on Tuesday. I was hoping to find a fabric to use a backing for the Royal Squares quilt. I came away with this fabric at 50% off.

I bought a few other neutrals to use in the future. I also picked up a twin size batting. All were 50% off.

There wasn’t any thread left to speak of and no other fabrics that caught my eye. I won’t be going back.

Charming Santa has a few more stitches.

I will be joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching, Frederique at the Quilting Patch and Alycia at Quilty Girl. Make yourself some tea or coffee and pop on over to their sites to see what other bloggers are stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Once I started paid attention to getting them together before moving to the left or right, the intersections started looking fine. There are a couple that aren't perfect, but they don't bother me.

  3. Your ball for the Windows quilt looks wonderful, Cathie! So glad you were able to figure that out. And the lamb is adorable! I love her eyelashes. I haven't been in our Joann's since right after the store closing announcement, but a good deal on batting would be worth the trip.

  4. Wow, congratulations for finding a way to achieve beautifully the ball! It's beautiful, and I can imagine how tricky it was to assemble the pieces. Well done!
Love the cute lamb and its eyebrows ;) Pretty new fabrics, great bargain.

  5. The ball looks stunning. How big is it? Do you have another quilt store nearby to shop for supplies? I have been to the Joann store in Port Huron, MI. Santa’s beard is coming along. I listen to audiobooks while hand sewing. Gail at the cozy quilter

  7. Hi Cathie: Happy Sunday, the Windows into the World is so intriguing, I am looking forward to the full finish. The lamb is so adorable, the knitted and crocheted animals are so on now, I must learn to crochet and knit.
Nice score on the items from Joann's, so sad they are closing.
I love the Mill Hill Santas.
    Have a great week.

  8. Cathie, your window to the world is looking amazing!!! Love your plan to carefully make sure everything lined up. I stopped in at Joann again last week, too. I stocked up on fusible interfacing for piecing batting together. They are finally down to 50%!

  10. That ball is a wowsa! Definitely something that benefits from hand piecing. Your lamb is so cute! Cool that your Joann's had batiks up to 50% off, on my last trip to mine they were still only up to 30% and I passed on them despite really wanting to stock up. I hadn't planned to go back since the clerk told me they would likely be closing at the end of April. However, I saw a post about a list of stores closing then and my store wasn't on it and it said some stores would remain open until end of May. So I might have to make a nother trip up just to check, LOL!!
