July Sunday Stitching

Our house was decorated for the July 4th holiday yesterday.
I didn't finish my Patriotic Bunny though. I managed to stitch the entire flag....without embellishment. I am now working on the birthday cake that the bunny is holding.
It has some 1/4 and 3/4 stitches that I am not enjoying. It is hard to see where to place the stitch on the dark fabric.

I really don't mind that this is not finished. I was busy this last week visiting with my daughter and her pup, Ruby. It was so nice to have her home with us for 10 days.
My husband enjoyed playing soccer with Ruby.
Her bed was a favorite place on July 4th with all of the fireworks going off.
Katie and Ruby are going home today. We don't know when we will see them again with the pandemic raging on in the country. I am hoping for either Thanksgiving or Christmas, but that is a long way off. Sigh.......
At least I managed to add a sleeve to the Peanuts Christmas quilt that I made for her a few years ago.
I was glad that I still had enough of the backing fabric left over.
She has a wall over her stairwell that is the perfect place for it.
I bought a Hang It Dang It for her to make hanging it easy.

I have also been adding a few rows here and there to my baby blanket. It is about 3/4 of the way done now. The last time I worked on it I got distracted, made a counting mistake and had to frog almost a whole row. I don't want to do that again.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching. I don't know what I will decide to stitch today, but something will get some attention.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Wow! Girl you have been sooo busy this week! I love that baby blanket you are working on... the patriotic rabbit with a cake will be precious when finished... I am glad you had ruby to play with as did your hubby for 10 days... how delightful that the dog will acclimate to new surroundings so easily... ours is spoiled to a strict schedule! lol
I hope your wait to see family isn't as long as we think it may be though I fear you are correct.. we are planning a possible visit from 1 of my kids and her boyfriend end of the month and are unsure about all of it still! Stay well and stay safe my friend :) Kathi

  3. I love that baby blanket and have not knitted one but usually crochet - as I knit a sweater I find I am so slow at it and much faster by far with a crochet hook.
Glad you were able to get in a visit with your daughter - I'm so glad our younger daughter and granddaughter were able to visit last November before all this started - heaven knows when we will see them again.

  8. It's okay the patriotic bunny was not finished for the 4th. The important thing is that you are enjoying the process other than the smaller stitches. I hear ya! Love the Peanuts quilt with the red sashing.

  9. How nice to see the exterior of your lovely home decorated for 4th July! Never mind about not finishing your patriotic bunny, he can be a guest next year. Lovely knitted blanket you are working on, I imagine it gets rather heavy as it grows?

  14. So many beautiful projects!
Often there is much else that occupies our time and it is okay if we do not get done the way we intended. With me, this is often the case.
So nice that you were able to spend time with your daughter and her lovely dog! :-)
