Slow Sunday Stitching

I have been fairly busy stitching my Patriotic Bunny. I am motivated to finish it for July 4th.
Isn't he looking adorable. I don't have two of the colors recommended, but I am happy with the substitutions that I have made. One of them is the lightest pink on the ears. It is supposed to be a pale salmon, but I think the pink works just fine. There aren't any craft stores open here yet and it is way too expensive to ship just a couple of floss skeins.

I have also added a few stitches to October Morning.
Can you see the light green just below the church? I still have to finish the few stitches at the bottom left of the church, but I got interrupted. Next I am going to try to fill in some more of the grassy area below the church.

I was baking again last week. This time I made Lemon Pound Cake Muffins
They are delicious. The remind me of the Lemon Pound Cake at Starbucks. If you are noticing a muffin trend with my baking, it is because I can easily share with my mom and MIL.

I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching. I will continue to work on my bunny and try to finish those green stitches on October Morning.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh I can't wait to see your bunny finished! I think the pink is perfect and yes ordering a few skeins online seems ridiculous. Those lemon muffins look so good, I plan on baking some soon. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  4. Patriotic Bunny pink substitution looks great. Certainly no one would be aware unless you mentioned. Our craft stores opened three days which is where I purchased floss for snowman ornament. Wore mask & washed hands afterwards. Yum....lemon anything!

  5. Cathie: That Bunny is adorable, I think sometimes when we make changes to designs it is for the better, salmon just does not sound like the right color.
The more you work on October Morning the more I like it, the grass color reminds me of the color of grass by the fence of our neighbor, it as just planted.
Thank-you for the muffin recipe, I get a lemon bread as a treat once a week at Starbucks.
All our craft stores are now open.
It is so sweet that you can share with your mother.

  7. Your bunny is coming right along and so is October Morning! I substitute floss colors all the time, too - I have a big basket of embroidery floss and want to use it instead of buy more! Those muffins look yummy - thanks for sharing the recipe.
