Stitched

The stitching on Spring Angel has almost completed. There is just a little more back-stitch outlining needed. I made a trip to a craft store to get some craft glue this week as I was all out. I have to check to see if I have an appropriate fabric for backing. I am making this into a flat-fold just like Winter Angel. I may have to buy some trim also.
Doesn't she look adorable.

I have to thank Catherine of  I Love to Stitch. I commented on her blog that I really liked her Stitch In Time Pinkeep and look what she did!
She sent me that pattern and another one. Oh I am so looking forward to making these. Be sure to pop on over to her site and see all of her beautiful items.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!

Slowly I Stitched

Okay, I know I am dating myself here, but all I could think about with my current speed of stitching is the old vaudeville routine "Slowly I Turned". No I am not that old, but I remember seeing it when I was a kid. It was once performed on the "I Love Lucy" show which is probably where I remember it from as I watched that show incessantly as a kid in the sixties. According to the internet it was also made famous by Abbott and Costello and the Three Stooges. I don't think either of them is where I remember it from though as I didn't watch them.
Back to my awfully slow stitching. There is a reason. On Tuesday I interviewed for the same teaching assistant job that I held last year. It was eliminated at the end of the school year. Now the math department realizes that the position is needed to get the students ready for the AP, IB and New York State math regents exams. I got the job and started bright and early Wednesday morning. Now I am working full-time as a TA, teaching at a local university as well as tutoring several students. I am really looking forward to the end of June when school will be done and I will have time to craft. Until then, I have a feeling that my blog posts might be few and far between except when there are school vacations.
That being said, I did manage to get a few minutes of stitching in this morning and I finally finished one of my Spring Angel's wings. Since today is the first day of Spring I am behind, but so be it. I am hoping to fill in the second wing over the next few days.
I am joining Kathy for some Slow Sunday Stitching today. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are stitching.

First March Post

My, my, we are well into March and this is my first post of the month. I don't know, I just haven't been very crafty lately. I feel guilty about all the other stuff that I need to get done whenever I sit down to craft.

I did take a little bit of time over the weekend to get some stitches in on Spring Angel. Her borders are finished and so are the butterflies. I know the word Spring is difficult to read, but I haven't completed any back-stitching yet. I like to do it all at once.
I am now in the process of stitching the white in the wings. You can see that I started at the bottom of the left wing.

I never finished Mom's hat. She probably won't need it until the fall, but I am going to make a point of not leaving it until then to finish. I am about halfway done with it as you can see.
That is all for now. I am just taking a short break from preparing an exam.
