Christmas is finally put away

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. Unfortunately, now that I am back at work, seeing the Christmas decorations hanging around all over the house made coming home a little stressful. Every day I realized that before I could sit down and craft, I needed to start packing up Christmas. As a result, no crafting was completed at all this last week. Each day I tried to pack up at least one of my many boxes of decorations. Yesterday, Hubby and I finally put away our village which was the last of the decor. Whew!
I sat right down yesterday afternoon and continued working on this:
I know you can't tell what it is, but then neither can the gift recipient. This is stitching up very quickly. Yay!
I am joining Kathy's Quilts for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Pop on over to her site to see what other bloggers are up to. Today I will spend my Slow Sunday Stitching working on my cross-stitch and shortening a pair of my husband's slacks. I also need to shorten a pair of pajama pants and two pairs of my own pants. I don't think those will be worked on today though.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Congrats on getting Christmas put away. Our miniature tree is still up because I haven't felt like dragging it to the storage room but everything else is put away. Enjoy your stitching time now!

  2. We just finally put our Christmas decor up yesterday... but we didn't put it up til later in December so we figured it all balanced out :) Nice for the red and green to be gone though I agree. Your stitching is stupendous.. good luck with your mending.. I can quilt all day but mending or ironing shirts just takes me forever to get doing! lol Kathi

  3. We hate putting ours away so it's still out. I love the lights and the bright colors. Can't wait to see what your surprise is. Beautiful hint of it at least.

    1. I love having my decorations up too, but I was starting to feel closed in. My house feels much more airy now.

But first I have to quilt, and then I will work! LOL

  6. I put away everything except the lights, and I keep those until the days start getting brighter, just to cheer me up. I love the colours you are stitching with.

  7. We have all of our decorations down but the boxes are still taking up my parking space in the garage. I need to straighten the attic before they can go back up.

Your stitches are perfect, I'm sure it is a lovely project...whatever it is :)

  11. I always seems to take forever to take down Christmas decorations. I think I got the last of it this week too. I hope you enjoyed your cross stitch. Hemming pants is not my favorite sewing activity.

  12. I felt exactly as you did - I was getting stressed seeing the decorations still up and couldn't relax to knit or spin. I'm in my happy place now that it is all put away till next year.

  14. I agree about the Christmas decorations. I'm happy to put them out and happy to put them up! I'm not much on extra clutter. After the New Year I like to clean out and have a fresh slate.
